I used to be a serial entrepreneur, still kind of am, working 80 hours a week and simply not enjoying life. In my mid 30’s I became a private pilot and started flying in Quebec’s northern bush country. That’s where and when my connection to nature, foraging and growing our own food all came to life.

After three years of experimenting with growing our own vegetables, herbs, medicinal flowers and fruits in Casey, Quebec (Growing zone 2B), raising hens for their eggs, hunting, and living an off-grid life on and off during the year, we decided to jump all in and become homesteaders and ranchers.

The Highland Homestead Ranch, in the Laurentide, is our family’s project to become self sufficient on our homestead and our business to provide quality products to our local community and produce herbal therapeutic products from our gardens. Through the process we wish to transmit our knowledge to anyone willing to learn and become homesteaders themselves. Our mantra is “from seed to table” and hope to positively impact as many people as possible to better and healthier living.
